New Delhi: The Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC), set up by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has appointed Abhijeet Sinha, a distinguished technocrat in economic and technology commercialization, as its Principal Adviser.

The appointment comes at a critical time when the government has launched the Export Promotion Mission and announced a ₹25,000 crore support package to boost services exports. SEPC is focusing on helping service exporters overcome non-tariff barriers and explore new markets in the face of global tariff challenges.

Sinha will bring his expertise in climate financing, green credits, circular economy, PPP models, and collaboration with international agencies and policymakers to support SEPC’s mission. He will also spearhead initiatives on digital tools, market identification, and branding of Indian services, aligning with the government’s vision of Viksit Bharat.

Over the years, Sinha has designed blended climate finance instruments such as the Annuity Hybrid E-Mobility (AHEM) and the Digital Health Annuity Model (DHAM), which use public funds as seed capital under PPP models to attract large-scale private investment. These frameworks have already enabled over ₹5,000 crore in private investments through flagship projects like the National Highways for Electric Vehicles (NHEV).

Known for his innovation, reform-driven thinking, and accountability, Sinha has consistently advanced private sector participation while driving technological transformation for ease of doing business. Currently, he serves as the National Program Director for Ease of Doing Business, and holds additional leadership roles in projects such as NHEV, DIISHA, Drone Pilot, and Climate Financing Instruments under the “Trillion $ Tech for Circular Economy” initiative.

Sinha has also served as advisor to key institutions including NIFTEM (National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management), FSSAI, and the Steel Users Federation of India (SUFI). He is currently President of the Charge Point Operator Society of India (CPOs of India).

His appointment is expected to strengthen SEPC’s ability to deliver world-class service promotion programmes, while helping India’s services sector navigate international challenges and contribute more significantly to the nation’s economic growth.
